Baked Beans
In the original cookbook this recipe was on the same page as Microwave Fudge with the following note: These are two different kinds of recipes to be on the same page, BUT I almost forgot the baked bean recipe that I couldn’t find and Debbie emailed the recipe to me. Then I forgot about it. So when I remembered to type it, a friend gave me this EASY fudge recipe so I had to include it.
Ingredients
- 1 can lima beans - drained
- 1 can kidney beans - drained
- 1 can pork and beans
- 8 slices of cooked bacon, crumble into small pieces; save bacon grease
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup catsup
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
Instructions
- In a little of the bacon grease, brown and cook onions, brown sugar, catsup, and dry mustard.
- Put beans and bacon in baking dish and stir in the heated mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 15 minutes.
