Spaghetti Pie

I usually double the recipe and use a 9" by 13" pan and a 8" by 8" inch pan. That way I can freeze one for later use.

  • 8 ounces long spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 15 ounces jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 4 ounces grated mozzarella cheese

  1. Break spaghetti into 2 inch pieces, cook until tender, drain.
  2. In large bowl, mix drained spaghetti with butter, parmesan cheese, egg, and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place spaghetti mixture in an 8" by 11" pan or large pie plate.
  4. Mix together cottage cheese and sour cream. Spread over spaghetti.
  5. Brown ground beef and drain off fat. Mix in the jar of spaghetti sauce. Spread over cheese mixture.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Return to oven until cheese melts.
  8. Let set for about 10 minutes before cutting.
