Party Mix

When you grandchildren would come for the holidays, this recipe was at least tripled, if not more. It was always a favorite. You can change the type of cereal you prefer, just keep the cups the same amount. I usually added a box of cheddar cheese crackers, in place of some of the cereal. Also pretzels can be added. It seems you each had a preference for one kind of cereal so it all balanced out. I would always finish the nuts as most of the time they were left in the bottom of the bowl.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Butter or margarine
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons seasoned salt or garlic salt
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 2 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups Bran Chex cereal
  • 2 cups Wheat Chex cereal
  • 1 cup salted mixed nuts

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in microwave and stir in seasoned salt or garlic salt and Worcestershire.
  2. Heat oven to 250 degrees.
  3. Place cereal and nuts in large shallow roasting pan.
  4. Pour melted butter mixture over the nuts and cereal.
  5. Mix until all pieces are cooled.
  6. Heat in oven 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.
  7. Spread on wax paper to cool.
