Ingredients
Cookies
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Frosting
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-2 tablespoon milk
Instructions
Cookies
- Mix brown sugar, shortening, water, egg.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
- Heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Drop by round teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake about 8-10 minutes, remove from sheet and cool.
- Spread with frosting.
Frosting
- Heat margarine over medium heat until delicate brown.
- Stir in powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
