Ingredients

Brownies

  • 2 cubes margarine
  • 4 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 plus 2 T flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup nuts

Frosting

  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Brownies

  1. Melt margarine and unsweetened chocolate over low heat and cool.
  2. Lightly beat eggs and gradually add sugar, mixing throughly.
  3. Add vanilla and cooled chocolate mixture and stir.
  4. Add flour, salt, and baking powder and stir.
  5. Add nuts and stir.
  6. Pour into greased and floured 13” by 9” pan and bake at 375 degrees 30-35 minutes.
  7. Frost soon after baking.

Frosting

  1. Melt unsweetened chocolate, margarine, and milk in microwave.
  2. Stir to blend.
  3. Add vanilla and powdered sugar to make mixture of spreading consistency.
