Ingredients
Brownies
- 2 cubes margarine
- 4 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 plus 2 T flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 cup nuts
Frosting
- 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
Brownies
- Melt margarine and unsweetened chocolate over low heat and cool.
- Lightly beat eggs and gradually add sugar, mixing throughly.
- Add vanilla and cooled chocolate mixture and stir.
- Add flour, salt, and baking powder and stir.
- Add nuts and stir.
- Pour into greased and floured 13” by 9” pan and bake at 375 degrees 30-35 minutes.
- Frost soon after baking.
Frosting
- Melt unsweetened chocolate, margarine, and milk in microwave.
- Stir to blend.
- Add vanilla and powdered sugar to make mixture of spreading consistency.
