Party Mix
When you grandchildren would come for the holidays, this recipe was at least tripled, if not more. It was always a favorite. You can change the type of cereal you prefer, just keep the cups the same amount. I usually added a box of cheddar cheese crackers, in place of some of the cereal. Also pretzels can be added. It seems you each had a preference for one kind of cereal so it all balanced out. I would always finish the nuts as most of the time they were left in the bottom of the bowl.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Butter or margarine
- 1 1/4 teaspoons seasoned salt or garlic salt
- 4 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups Corn Chex cereal
- 2 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 2 cups Bran Chex cereal
- 2 cups Wheat Chex cereal
- 1 cup salted mixed nuts
Instructions
- Melt butter in microwave and stir in seasoned salt or garlic salt and Worcestershire.
- Heat oven to 250 degrees.
- Place cereal and nuts in large shallow roasting pan.
- Pour melted butter mixture over the nuts and cereal.
- Mix until all pieces are cooled.
- Heat in oven 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.
- Spread on wax paper to cool.
